A new human baby took Carson's place in his old home.

But Carson's happy with his IG brother, Vinny, in his new home.

When Hayley was surrendered, her knees were so painful she'd often walk across the yard using only her front legs. Here she is after surgery on her first knee.

After her second knee surgery, Hayley and her foster mom took a trip to Chicago. Soon after, Hayley was adopted by her foster family.

Marco came into our rescue at 6 months old, as a stray from a humane society in South Dakota. He was neutered and had his retained baby teeth extracted while in foster care.

Here's Marco, with Jodi (his new mom), the night he graduated from Obedience class.

Simon was living in a crate in an unheated garage when he was surrendered to our rescue in 2003. He needed medical attention and three surgeries before he was ready for adoption.

Simon now enjoys all the attention he gets from the kids in his new family. He loves playing ball and sleeping in bed with his humans.

Maizey, along with a littermate, was surrendered to our rescue at 13 weeks old. Maizey was spayed, vaccinated, and stayed in foster care for four months to receive proper socialization and learn basic housetraining skills.

Maizey and baby nap together in her new home.

Housetraining problems landed Nigel - still a puppy -  in animal control, where a service dog organization found him. They fostered him until we had an opening in our foster care program. We had Nigel neutered, then off he went to his new foster home.

Nigel's foster family fell in love with him and adopted him. Here's photographic proof that Nigel thinks his Christmas chewie is delicious!

Smokey was a stray, found on the streets of St. Paul, and bearing a few battle scars and injuries. He had no collar or ID tags, no tattoo, no microchip, and he was not entered in any of the Lost Dog listings. We had Smokey neutered, vaccinated, and X-rays taken of his injured foot.

Amazingly, after 30 days in foster care, Smokey's owners were found and he was reunited with his family!

Two young, emaciated, non-socialized IGs - Pixel and Puzzle - were surrendered to our rescue. They were spayed, had complete dentals, and eventually learned to leave the safety of their cube bed, placed within an exercise pen, and explore their foster home.

Pixel, a true princess, loves to pose in all her splendor. While still a little shy in new situations, Pixel enjoys the company of her two canine 'brothers' and has blossomed while living with her forever family.

Another photo of Pepin. She was 5.8 lbs when surrendered. Here she is when she finally hit 6 lbs, and the vet OK'd a much-needed dental cleaning with extractions. Her right knee is permanently rotated out of the socket due to a neglected luxated patella.

What an amazing transformation! Here's Pepin,  today, at her home in eastern Wisconsin. She lives with her family and her IG 'brother.'

Daisy - a rambunctious puppy - was too active for her elderly owner. Here she is - looking a little overwhelmed - her first night in foster care.

Gina, as she's known today, plays with her 'sister,' Lilli at their home in Iowa.

A quick study, Joey learned basic obedience while in foster care.

PJ came into rescue as an unclaimed stray. He was vaccinated, neutered, heartworm tested and had a dental cleaning while in foster care.

Today, PJ (top) enjoys life with a loving family that includes two IG 'sisters.'

Icee lost her home when her family had a baby.

Icee (now, 'Mia') and her new mom joined us at a playdate in Chicago.

Spike's family was moving overseas and felt unable to take their dogs with them.

Spike's new family includes a retired racing greyhound.

Romeo (blind) and Blade (seizure disorder) came into rescue as special needs seniors.

They now live in Iowa with Susie and her two other adopted IGs.
