November 2004, Lifeline accepted an Italian Greyhound
puppy, Sage, in desperate need of surgery to repair his grade 4,
bilateral, luxated patellas. After frantic fundraising, money was
raised and Sage received two knee surgeries, along with an emergency
surgery,
enabling him - after extensive rehabilitation - to stand up straight and walk! The Sage Fund
was established to ensure that Lifeline would never have to turn down an
IG needing expensive surgery due to lack of funding.
Thanks to the generous donations from our supporters,
The Sage Fund continues to give hope to homeless hounds by paying for specialized medical consults, treatments and surgeries.
